That’s a question for NVC. I would imagine it’s the same only if you are in Mexico or the Phillipines, since they are currently working on October and March of 1992. For other countries it’s May of 2001, which would present an issue. Call 1-603-334-0700 to ensure.

It takes 2 weeks for them to see if there is anything missing or not. If there is anything missing, they will let you know, if not they will send documents to the embassy and ask for an interview time. It depends on the traffic of the embassy from now on. It is not related to the NVC anymore.

i know that NVC take 02 Weeks to see doc.but my case has 8 weeks completed. i called time time to NVC they said that ur case in review u will for next week. but my 3 sibling case has completed. but one is in review status.i sent all DOC of 4 sibling cases at same Envolpe & same time updated at NVC.

My brother’s PD is Dec 1998, f2b category.He already submitted required docs and my dad already paid all neccesary fees (visa, aos)last october 2009.I would just like to know when can he expect to get an appointment for interview.Thanks!

My dad is a LPR and we were all petitoned before we turned 21.My eldest bro priority date was Dec 1998, second one was July 1999 and mine was 2001.Im already here in the US for 5 years now.
Im inquiring about my bro’s case.He received 1st notice from NVC last 05/09 all documents needed and fees were paid and completed by 10/09.My dad already inquired NVC about his case and he was told to just wait.My question is how long does he need to wait till he can get an interview date.Does he really need to wait till his PD becomes current in the visa bulletin?My other brother already received notification from NVC and is now processing his papers.Thank u!

@ Pinki~Your green card gets “activated” once you enter the US with your immigrant visa.

On the average, it takes 3 months after entry, but I have seen people who received it in a month.

A lot depends on your port of entry. For example, if your port of entry is SEATAC (seattle airport) it can take just a month. If your port of entry is LAX (los angeles airport), it can take 2 or 3 months. It also depends on the volume of work that the USCIS receives.

No need to worry how long it takes, though. As long as you have your valid immigrant visa attached to your passport, you can pretty much do what you need to do … you can get a job, open a bank account, enroll in college, etc.

This is because your SSN (socail security number) also gets activated” and you will be receiving it in a week or so (average of 4 weeks) by mail. Your SSN (together with your immigrant visa) is your ticket to live here as an LPR (lawful permanent resident).

However, if it has been 6 months and you haven’t received your green card yet, get in touch with the USCIS (US citizenship and immigration services) to follow it up.

Hello,
You only need to look at the Visa Bulletin to know how long it will take you to get to US. I am in F3 and it has taken 8.5 years so far. F4 takes a little bit more and I think it may take you another 8-9 years. If I were you I would look in to other possibilities to move to US. There is going to be some changes in categories and I recommend you to look in to other AVEs to get there. Good luck.

I think next VB will continue to be 22May01 although i don’t want to be like that. Currently, there is no file with PD after 22May01 get appointment letter in Vietnam. If someone gets appointment letter after VB’s April then it belongs to VB’s May.

Other options available to you are work visa, investor visa and student visa if you like to continue your education.

Hi, Id just like to ask my dad has a pending petition landing on the 4th preference. His PD is March 2005. How long will it take for him to be interviewed? Im quite confused because I dont know If I should look at the
