    Pooyan that is so nice, I am so happy to see you back on the board, when I saw you I told my husband he’s back. I always look on the visa bulletin but never comment, because you guys left, but once more I am happy you came back on, I am also happy for you and wife, and I pray God every thing will be ok.

    what happen to me was that the filing my dad did for me came through, but when i went for the interview they asked me if i was married and i told them yes, i was then told i would be placed in category f3. So how long does something like this take and why would i have to go through this long process when they have all my file already.

    February 18th, 2010 at 16:55 | #19

    @myles
    That means you are F3 category with PD August 2002. Based on March 2010 bulletin, in your category they are currently working on PD 22 May 2001, so you may hav another 1- 2 yrs wait (just a guesstimate).
    What happened wit you is that your dad filed while you were unmarried,then you were F1 categort, but when you got married, your category automatically changed to F3. It’s just their system, So you will now just have to wait. Information is the key, becaz I am sure if you had certain information, you may have made different choices. That’s just how the cookie crumbles. You have an upside, however, because now, when you do get through, your entire family will be able to go along, you just have to start submittingtheir papers right away. @ years is not so long…:)

    @myles
    Call the national visa centre (1-603-334-0700), they will tell you exactly what to do. In order to check your case you will need to know your case number, the petioner’s (your dad) name and date of birth, and of course, your name and date of birth. Explain what happened with you, and let them know that you want to submit your family’s papers. They will tell you what to do. Good luck.

    Hi there man. Thank you very much. Listen, two things must happen before you can get to the interview. One of them is for a case to become CURRENT and the second is that the document processing must COMPLETE. It is usually the case that a case becomes COMPLETE when you submit all your documents to NVC. After you send documents to NVC, it will take them 2 weeks to process your documents and check to see if there is anything missing or not. When your case becomes COMPLETE, then you have to wait for your PD to become CURRENT. If you call NVC, they will inform your of your document processing status. Anyways, I hope your PD becomes CURRENT the sooner. Good luck.

    Hi. Yes I have to go to Turkey once more to get the green card packages and let our passports stamped by visa. But only one of the applicants would be enough. One person can represent all others. FBI check usually goes to men older than 16 years of age and of course from specific countries. Specially if the person had served the military service or has had a governmental position in that country. My wife did not go through the FBI check, because she never worked in Iran and besides it is about 4 years we are not living in our own country. Therefore it is different from case to case. Good luck.

    Hi there. I have to thank you very much. I really hope from the depth of my heart that you and your dear husband get to the US as soon as possible and the wait becomes over. I understand it is too frustrating to wait this long, but that’s the way we are in right now. Therefore have patience and perseverance. Take care and have fun.

    @myles
    Your child has no issue then. Do you intend to go live in the US without your wife?. She doesn’t have to go. The only issue will be the separation. And should she opt for residency status in the US, there are ways to keep that status without being there full time, she will just have to juggle living in 2 countries, I know ppl who do it and it works for them. If I were you, I would add them to the petition now, and as time goes on you can decide, because if you dont add them now, and then your wife changes her mind, it will be even longer for her. Besidides, you have another year or 2 do decide, she may change her mind by then.

    Hi,
    In no time your AP will be over and done with. My interview, when or if the time comes, will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
    BTW, did you have to provide more docs at the time of the interview? I am asking this because there are more docs named on UAE’s US counsel for immigrants to be presented at the time of the eventual interview.
    Hope all goes well for all.

    @khan4great
    It takes 2 weeks for them to see if there is anything missing or not. If there is anything missing, they will let you know, if not they will send documents to the embassy and ask for an interview time. It depends on the traffic of the embassy from now on. It is not related to the NVC anymore.

  39. Pooyan
    February 21st, 2010 at 21:36 | #39

    @mt2644
    Thank you very much. Yes, you have to check the embassy’s website, because each embassy has its own regulations. You have to provide all the documents mentioned in the embassy of the country to which you are going to. In my case, it was ANKARA and there were some document like CARTE MELLI which was needed, but never mentioned by NVC, but it was mentioned in the embassy’s website. Good luck.

    Unfortunately, there’s no way to predict bulletin movements. You just have to wait and pray that you get a good movement here and there. Just take the time to sort yourself and your wife out. God’s speed.
