My visa interview will be held on june 30!! I am on F3 category.. this means I have to be there with my wife! Does anyone can tell about their interview experience? What questions should we expect??

Congratulations, we are all happy for you. good luck with the interview. I do not have that experience , but in the interview time try to be positive about living in america on your own foot without depending on others . that is very important for them.
But Can I ask you a question. we have paid the money ( 70 dollars for the affidavit of support) and 400 dollars for each applicant. then we printed the receipt and cover sheet. Do I have to download the relevant forms myself and then send them py post or are they going to send me the related forms for filling out? because in one section they said wait for the authorization from NVC but in the coversheets it says follow the instructions about the procedures. we really do not know what to do.
And how long it took from when you received the agent form to getting the appontment ?

TO ALL: The electronic procedure is only eligible for people from CHINA and about 2, 3 other countries, but I hear that some people from other countries also receive forms through email. Can anybody give me some information on it?

thanks for the link, I am really worried about my son because I sent the NVC an e-mail last month and I received two different replies, apparently by two different people. one said your case in under consideration of the Child Act( which allows the child to enter the US after their 21st birthday because the pending time was long) and in other email, they said they can not do anything now because the visa is not available for us yet. By the way my son is now 21 years and a few days! and might be interesting to you that his name is Pouya.
Thanks again for your concern and I hope he can get the visa. I think I have to write a letter to NVC and explain everything .
Did you have a contact with them by phone or e-mail about your concern that they might not have your email address?

hi rose my mother have paid her affidavit support fee on line and she received instruction to download her form and submitted it with the cover sheet i have received my visa fee bill and it was paid on line also i received a email from ncv stating that because i paid fee on line i will not received any document but i have to download the necessary forms and submit them to the nvc they also gave me the site address that i can go and download such form
i also received the same letter via email from nvc about my daughter who is 22 they said because my priority date is not current they can not do nothing about her case by the way i am from jamaica

we have paid both affidavit fee and applicant fee on line and received the receipts on line too. Do you mean we do not have to wait for NVC to contact us for sending the documents?
I have printed all forms and filled them already and my mum too filled the affidavit of support form but we are not sure when to post them to NVC. I appreciate your reply

hello rose please see below a correspondence that i received from the
nvc you can also called the nvc and they will instruct you what to do just to play it safe

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

A packet containing the Affidavit of Support (I-864) Processing Fee
Invoice has been sent to the petitioner or attorney of record. The
payment due amount listed on the invoice must be paid according to the
instructions.

You must visit the Department of State’s website:
http://www.ImmigrantVisas.State.Gov, Fee Collection, to pay the required
processing fees on-line. You will need your case number and invoice ID
number to properly pay your fee.

Payers who are unable to pay online must follow the alternate payment
instructions. Go to the above website and click the “Fee Collection”
link, then the “Alternative Payment Method” link, and follow the
directions displayed.

Once the payment is received and processed, you will be given
instructions on how to download the instruction packets and the
appropriate forms on-line. The instruction packets and forms will not be
sent to you by the NVC if your payment is made on-line. You will need to
mail the appropriate forms to the NVC in order to complete your
immigrant visa processing. Please follow the instructions provided to
you by the website.

that is right. Fill the forms and send it to the NVC with the cover sheet. It took like 6 months the whole process! Well I am very positive and a I guess they will see it at the interview, besides my wife and me are both professionals and looking forward to work a lot in the US.. so we are defenitely independent. HELLO JC, I have a question re:DS230 form, what did you write in number 14? Spouse’s Maiden or Family Name. is it maiden name of your wife or your surname? im confuse about this.

Tutubear, how is that possible? Your PD is Nov 13th and it is not current yet. Well, it is good to know that NVC may even go beyond announced PDs and process applications. Good luck with the interview.

thanks Carlos Brown and JC for your information. I am going to send them the documents as soon as my police record comes.
I called the NVC last night and they also said that becuse we paid online there will be no package by post and we have to download the forms. and about my son I also asked and he said that because at the moment the visa is available to people whose priority date is OCT 22, and for me it is not ready yet, I have to wait and as soon as I see that in the website that it is available, I have to write a letter and ask them to consider my son’s case as the Child Act and he also said it is not something automatic, we have to write to them a letter.
He said hopefully it will be availabe in one month time but no guarantee.
Hope everthing goes well for all and I know everybody is waiting to hear from JC.

Dear all, well I just came back from interview.. and a hate to say I am almost finished.. rather than.. I’m done!

Everything went well at the embassy, once the agent called my name, me and my wife showed up at the window and the agent (Venezuelan) started asking for our medical exams, pictures and asked some questions about previous trips to the US. Then he delivers the swear statement wich we had to read and understand.. then he told us to wait for our call.. we waited for 15 minutes and another agent (american) called my name in another window.. he asked us when we got married, about our previous trips, and asked us to scan our fingers and sign the DS Forms… the he asked.. do you have any evidence of your marriage.. I answer.. well besaides our marrieage certoficates and our rings.. we have nothing else.. We people.. you have to bring marriage proofs such as pictures, joint accounts or anything to give them proof that you are really married.. but my surprise is that I was never ever told we had to bring this evidence to the interview…

Well, finally he gave us back our passports and told us to go next monday to bring evidence of marriage to complete the process!

So this journey continues! Hopefully next monday we will leave the embassy with a big smile in our faces!

Hi Carlos,

go to the immigrant web page http://www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov, There you will find all the documentation you need to enclose along with your DS230 forms. Remember to send basically your marriage certificate, Police records, birth certificates, children certificates (all legalized by your country and transalated)I know it seems complicated, but it is not that much really.. just take your time to get everything.

hello to all, im an F4 CAT, PD Nov.86, NVC have sent us notice to proceed with the processing of our papers and have sent us DS3032 and we have submitted our DS230 last Jan 2009, we are now awaiting for the interview notice from the embassy but it seems the processing is so slow at this time unlike months back when they process PD months ahead of schedule…. Be patient everyone we will get there… thanks

today it´s one of the happiest days in our Lifes!!
OUR F3 IMMIGRANT VISA WAS FINALLY APPROVED!!!

After waiting 9 years and 6 long hours (Longer than the 9 years) at the US embassy today… the magic words came out from an immigrant agent: Your Visa has been approved!!

With tears in our eyes and lots of dreams in our minds my wife and me left the embassy filled with the greatest happiness!! We are so very greatfull to God.. Hope all of you get the same joy very soon!!

I´ll keep posting my experience through our trip and entrance to the US wich I believe will be in 3 months aprox!

I will be 21 in October. It is my grandfather who is applying for us (my dad, mom and brother). He applied in 2003.

Visa Bulletin for AUG. 2009 is now out. Very bad for F3. Only 8 days, but 1 month and 18 days for F1. My god. How long should we wait. I’m F3, pd Feb. 16, 2001.

We’re on F2, paid visa fee and sent ds230 to nvc last December and got no reply from them. My spouse called nvc twice and the said no visa is available. I’m wondering how long more do we have to wait till a visa becomes available.
