i applied for i-140 schedule a fornurses and my priority date is june 16, 2008. wishful thinking that the visa bulletin will be current the end of the year. can i have a work permit then? or is it a long wait for me since i recently applied my i-140?

based on the movement of the last 6 months and if it continues on that path it may be until 2013.

I am a EB2 applicant, applied I-485 back on Sept. 2005. My PD is Dec. 2004. When I will get GC? Any idea?

“… and the Employment Third preference Other Worker cut-off date will return to 01JAN03 in October, the first month of the new fiscal year.”

Can anybody explain what this sentence means and where is it in the visa bulletin?
Are we going to see Jan 03 in category 3 when October visa bulletin comes out??????

Hi, PD, let me help you a little. My son is still in my country, married. I applied for him in July 2000.
I was a PR then, Later, in 2004 I became a USC, he got married and now they have a baby. Now they are F3 category. You know, we have a month ahead of us. However, we got choice of agent in April, it actually comes 6-9 months before PD current. So, it will move.
Not only you are getting GC, but even yuor kids , if you have them . This is for sure. Good luck!

How unfair!

I had some free time so I decided to look at movement of the F1 category over the past several years and this is the pattern I saw:

year of 2004 ~ category moved 130 days
year of 2005 ~ category moved 121 days
year of 2006 ~ category moved 0 days
year of 2007 ~ category moved 261 days
year of 2008 up to august ~ 66 days

so on average it looks like F1 moves three months every year – now I’m not taking into account the number of application per year that probably will change because I assume the number of applications are increasing every year. So my ESTIMATE is by the end of this year the F1 PD will be at 15may02 and on january 2010 it will be at 15aug02.

Kaunas thanks a lot. It was great. It seems that you are aware of the rules and regulations. My PD is Feb. 2001. Could you please tell me when approximately I have to expect my Visa? You know I’m really tired of waiting and being patient. Thanks in advance.

they received DS 230 before approximately
1 year of PD.
My PD is june 2001 INDIA but i have not
received DS 230 .what is fact ? I want to know
DS 230 is lost in post or not send by department.

You said that you have received Choice of Agent in April right? How about your parents at US, have thay received the package for immigrant visa applications( DS-230, I-864) from NVC? if they did, please let me know when? I am F3 category, and my PD is Sep. 2000, but I have not received anything yet.
FaLgun, how r u? I have called NVC and was told that they gona mail the Choice of Agent out very soon, but I know know how soon it is. As of today Jul. 21,2008 I still have received nothing.

Nga Le, I am a parent and USC citizen, and my married son, his wife and a baby are beneficiaries. They are in their country, in Europe.
We ( my so and I ) both got Choice of agent in April , and form DS-230 in May.
Our PD is July 18, 2000. Now they work ( if they really work? ) on June 8, 2000.
I hope it moves in October.
PB, I think you will be there in spring 2009…

I have a question for whomever has an accurate answer. I am awaiting my visa interview at the consulate PD June 13/02 Fam1 category. I just finished nursing school in the US and waiting to take my NCLEX. Does anyone know if I was to apply for employment would it be faster than waiting for the interview/ or do nurses fall under a special category and not just regular work visas. Either way I have to get my visa at a consulate.

I guess the question is is it worth it to start another mess or just wait for PD to become current F1 PD June 13 2002

It should move further according to pridictions . There will be more visa numbers available as a new year start from october on…..What does John has to say about this ?

My PD is April 2007 ! I had missed chance to file 485 because I received my labor cert late by 6 days !!!!
Let’s keep our hopes up and wait for the September visa bulletin !!!

If I was you, I will contact directly to NVC(603-334-0700) to check the status of your case. As you have seen that Kaunas, PD is July 18, 2003, F3 category but he did receive the application forms to start the immigrant visa application process.

NVC will not reply if you don’t have your email address registered w/ them. Call NVC(603-334-0700) and update yur file w/ your email address

Lots and Lots of questions, but NO Answers? What’s going on?

In the light of Visa Bulletin for August, 2008, could someone please comment on the following:

1. As per I-797C Notice the PD is March 23, 2006 under EB2.

2. My attorney filed I-485 on Aug. 15, 2007 that was assigned to Nebraska Service Center (Current Processing Date as Aug., 2007).

3. Online status shows I-485 application receipt date as Oct. 10, 2007.

Nice analysis on F1 Leon, Gary Vancam, T. Pretty discouraging also. Lets all hope for a comprenhensive inmigration reform that would hopefully accelerate PDs.

My wife’s priority date sept 2005. EB2 category, from India. Now that EB2 dates moved up to July 2006, can she expect the visa number soon or she has to wait few more years? Please give ideas. Thanks

I’ve been reading recent posts and I feel a bit releaf I,m not the only one going through this. But any way, thinking of different routes since PD’s are not moving I thought of this:
Going to the states under and F-1 visa, acompanying visa for my wife.
Then apply 485 when my PD becomes current.

Could this be an option? I’m just thinking about it.

My PD is Oct 2000 F3 category. (All areas)

The problem with looking at movement in the classes in 2006, 2005 and 2004 is that the slow movement was due to mass filings of I-245’s. After we got past the date of April 22, 2001 all of those were in the past. That is why 2007 moved so fast.

Hi everyone. My PD for f3 is July 2, 2000 and have not received any application to start the immigrant visa application process.

I called NVC to check on the status of my case so I gave the operator my I-797 receipt number but she said NVC has not received my case.

Do the operators get paid to be rude and hang up on people? because she did exactly that from the start until she hung on me.

Then I called USCIS, they told me that it is normal when there are many documents to process?

I guess I will wait until my PD is closer..

what is the present status for F# catagory

I haven’t paid too much attention to other than the FB-1 class, but clearly I-245 is a problem for the FB-4 class as well.

The majority of us have been disappointed after the last 3 bulletins. Quite frankly I would not expect any better from the September bulletin unless we see a miracle. Those who want a miracle need to start praying and fasting now. Others can wait until the new fiscal year starts in October and the DHS has a new round of visas available.

For the F1 category it may be slowing due to price increase on February 19th 2002.
